Cats and Kittens

Sometimes, the most beautiful friendships are the ones you least expect. Meet Yarra the cat and Errol the rabbit. Two completely different little souls who, for whatever reason, have struggled to find friendship with their own species. Despite our best efforts, neither has managed to form a lasting bond with their own kind. But then something rather special happened. They found each other. A cat and a rabbit. Two little misfits who somehow found comfort, companionship and happiness in one another. They don’t care that they’re different. They don’t care that one meows and the other hops. They’ve simply decided that life is a little nicer with each other in it. And honestly? Our hearts can’t cope. So, we’ve decided to look for a very special forever home for them together. This won’t be a typical adoption. We will be incredibly selective, with strict terms and conditions to ensure both animals remain safe, happy and have their individual needs met. Their friendship doesn’t remove the risks of a cat and rabbit living together, so appropriate separation, supervision and understanding will be essential. We know finding the right home won’t be easy, but these two deserve someone who understands just how special they are. Because sometimes family isn’t about being the same. It’s about finding someone who makes you feel safe, loved and a little less alone.

Violet is a playful, energetic little lady with a big personality and absolutely no respect for personal space. Her biggest obsession? Sparkly balls. She chases them, bats them around and proudly carries them in her mouth like she’s just taken down a wildebeest. She loves fusses and scratches, but being picked up? Absolutely not, peasant. 💅

Other cats don’t intimidate her either. They can hiss all they like. Violet has already decided they’re best friends. Their opinions are irrelevant. She’s recently discovered laps are excellent for cuddles, although sitting still isn’t exactly her speciality. She’s also started sleeping on her foster carer’s bed and attacking feet under the duvet. Charming. She’s a brilliant eater, loves her kibble and has impeccable litter tray manners.

Two gorgeous girls looking for their forever home, ideally with humans who understand that affection is lovely, personal space is sacred, and sometimes your sister is just an absolute pain in the backside. Luna, the chilled out queen. Luna is the more laid back of the two. She’s sweet, gentle and enjoys a good fuss without feeling the need to file a formal complaint about it. She’s quite happy curled up behind the curtains, sprawled across the sofa like she pays the mortgage, or chasing anything dangling from a string. She enjoys cuddles, doesn’t mind being picked up and is generally just happy to exist wherever she happens to land. A lovely, easygoing girl with a heart full of love and absolutely no plans to do anything particularly strenuous. Bella, the independent woman. Bella, on the other hand, has terms and conditions. And she’d appreciate it if you read them. She’s affectionate when she wants to be, loves a tickle and will happily nudge into you for attention. However, when she’s had enough, she’ll politely inform you that your stroking subscription has expired. She’s a little more cautious and enjoys her own space. You might find her perched on top of a wardrobe, contemplating life and judging everyone beneath her. But don’t be fooled! Once she’s finished being mysterious and unavailable, she’ll happily come and sit beside you on the sofa. Being picked up? Absolutely not on her list of favourite activities. She will tolerate the audacity, but you WILL hear about it. And her relationship with Luna? Well, some days they’re best friends. Other days Bella would quite happily pack Luna’s bags and leave them outside.

Big by name. Big by nature. Absolutely enormous in the affection department. Meet Big Bertha, a gloriously cuddly lump of love who comes equipped with a purr powerful enough to restart a small tractor. Bertha is affectionate, chatty and firmly believes that personal space is a ridiculous concept invented by people who clearly haven’t met her.  She’s also a curious little soul, although she does like to assess a situation before committing. Adventurous? Yes. Reckless? Absolutely not. She’s got a figure to maintain and a life to protect. Once Bertha decides you’re her person, congratulations. You’ve acquired a shadow. A rather substantial shadow. One that purrs, talks back and follows you around like an unpaid security guard with attachment issues. She’s got the body of a rugby player, the heart of a marshmallow and the conversational skills of someone who’s had three glasses of wine at a family gathering.

These two have had what can only be described as a massive software update. When they first arrived, Moochi was terrified of approximately everything and used Miso as industrial strength emotional bubble wrap. Miso was the brave one, the bodyguard, the designated spokesperson and Chief Inspector of Humans. Now? They join everyone in bed. They love being stroked. They happily accept affection. They’ve discovered their tiny little meows after previously being completely mute. But, most importantly, they’ve gone from gratefully eating absolutely anything to being fussy little madams with culinary standards. So that’s nice. Give a rescue cat confidence and apparently the first thing they do is leave you a one star review on dinner. Miso is friendly, affectionate and loves a fuss. She’ll accept cuddles and still keeps a protective eye on her sister. Moochi has come an INCREDIBLE way. She’s still the more nervous of the two and will need someone patient who understands that her confidence may wobble in a new environment. But we’ve now seen exactly what she’s capable of when she feels safe. These girls aren’t looking for someone who expects instant perfection. They’re looking for someone willing to give them time, patience and love while they settle all over again. Because underneath the nerves are two gorgeous, affectionate little girls just waiting to take over your bed, shout tiny demands at you and decide the expensive food you bought yesterday is suddenly beneath them. Miso & Moochi come as a package deal. One bodyguard. One recovering anxious potato. Both absolutely bloody gorgeous. 🥹♥️
